Your evidence cards stay in this browser. We do not receive your sightings, species notes, reference links, or locations.

What is stored

The app stores your current draft and saved evidence cards in IndexedDB on this device. This includes anything you enter: observation dates, locality, optional coordinates, visual and call notes, candidates, confidence, source links, and decisions.

Location protection

Exports use “Private / locality only” by default and exclude coordinates. You must deliberately choose precise export and supply coordinates. Do not record or share sensitive nesting locations.

Network activity

The installed app does not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, third-party fonts, or runtime content delivery networks. It does not contact BirdNET, Merlin, eBird, reference URLs, or any other identification service. Your browser only requests this site’s static files when online.

Your controls

• Export individual cards as Markdown or CSV.
• Export the archive as JSON before moving devices or clearing browser data.
• Delete cards individually from the Saved cards screen.
• Clear this site’s storage in your browser to remove all local data.

Reference links

Links are stored as text. The app does not fetch, cache, or reproduce linked audio. Opening an exported link is subject to that site’s privacy policy.

Contact and changes

This v1 has no server-side account or data contact because no user data is collected. Material changes will be dated here. Effective: 28 August 2026.
